Client Privacy Information
PFG Financial Advisors (“PFG”) is committed to total client satisfaction, which includes respecting your right to privacy. We value your trust and confidence, and we want you to know why we collect information about you and how we use that information.
PFG is committed to the management, use and security of nonpublic personal information gathered from potential, existing and former clients. This notice explains our policies and practices in handling your personal information and describes our commitment to protecting your privacy.
Current PFG clients will receive a copy of our privacy policy each year, and future clients will receive one at the beginning of our business relationship. As our products and services continue to evolve, it may be necessary to revise our privacy policies, in which case we will provide you with an updated notice.
Client Information
It is necessary for PFG to gather and maintain nonpublic and personal information about you in order to provide the products and services you request and to administer your business with us. Most of the information we collect is obtained directly from you through applications, questionnaires, or other forms. The data may include any or all of the following:
n Personal identifying information such as your name, social security number, address and telephone number
n Other personal information such as employment history, income, assets or employment status, and possibly information about other members of your household
n Information regarding your investment accounts offered through PFG such as information concerning the types of products you own and/or your prior transactions
Should we need to verify or obtain additional information about you during the normal course of business, we may contact outside sources such as consumer reporting agencies, brokers, dealers and government reporting agencies. Information collected from third parties may include credit and payment history or other information we deem necessary to manage, service or administer your products and services offered through PFG.
In addition, if you conduct business with PFG online, you may notice our use of Internet “cookies” – alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser. Cookies enable our systems to recognize your browser and customize your experience on our Web site; they also help us better understand how our web site is used by our clients.
How Your Information Is Used
In order for PFG to maintain its high quality of products and services, it is often necessary to disclose some or all of the client information described above to nonaffiliated third parties, as permitted by law. For example, we may disclose your information to third parties for processing, maintaining, and servicing your products or accounts, administering and auditing our business, and preventing fraud. Recipients of these disclosures may include brokers, dealers, agents, administrators, consultants, regulatory and government authorities, consumer reporting agencies and service providers.
Periodically, we may use your client information to underwrite or offer you another product or service offered by our affiliates. PFG does not disclose client information to companies that perform marketing services on behalf of third parties. In addition, under no circumstance will we disclose your health information for marketing purposes.
After our client relationship has ended, PFG will maintain the same privacy standards and will only disclose information about former clients as described in this privacy policy, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
Protecting Your Information
PFG has implemented significant measures to ensure that your information remains secure. We use physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to maintain the integrity of your information and shield against unauthorized use. We restrict access to your information to authorized PFG employees and authorized third parties. All employees who handle information are required to follow privacy procedures to guarantee that your information is handled properly and used only for authorized purposes.
Access to and Correction of Your Information
If you have questions concerning information that we have about you in our records you may notify us in writing. You may review this information in person or request to receive a copy for a small fee. You may also write to us if you believe information should be corrected, amended or deleted, and we will review your request. We will either make the requested change or explain why we will not do so. If we do not make the change, you may submit a short written statement concerning the disputed information, which will be included in all future disclosures of your information.
Disclosure of Your Information
Unlike some other companies, PFG WILL NOT DISCLOSE YOUR NAME AND PERSONAL INFORMATION TO A NON-AFFILIATED COMPANY BECAUSE THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES OF THAT ORGANIZATION MAY BE OF INTEREST TO YOU. Only when we have met or spoken with you and together we agree that this may be a proper course of action for your specific needs or desires will we disclose information to non-affiliated parties. We recognize that many clients appreciate receiving information from an affiliated company about products and services that may be of use to them, and in order to receive this information, it is necessary for us to provide these companies with information about you. You may opt out of these disclosures if you prefer that we not disclose your information to affiliated companies. This means that you may direct us to disclose your information only when necessary to service your products with us or when required by law. If you choose to opt out of such disclosures, please complete the provided form and mail it to us at the address provided.

Some PFG associates are also employees of other PFG affiliates or provide services to those affiliates. In addition, PFG associates may be registered representatives of an FINRA member broker dealer. An associate may see, use or need access to personal information as part of their job responsibilities to provide our services to you. Many PFG associates work closely with PFG’s other affiliated organizations on a regular basis, and it is often necessary to share client information among companies. By signing this opt out provision, you understand that affiliates will still have access to your personal information but only when it is in regards to providing a service that you requested. All PFG employees and affiliates maintain the same high standards of PFG in regards to privacy of client information.

While we recognize that many clients appreciate receiving information about services and products offered by affiliated companies, others may not wish to receive such information. You may receive multiple privacy notices if you have more than one account with PFG. Unless otherwise instructed by you, the opt out form you provide will apply to all of the information PFG collects in regards to you. You will need to return a separate opt out form for each account or product, and we ask that you provide us with your social security number so that we can ensure your opt out election will be applied to all of your accounts with us.
If your account is jointly owned with another person, you may, on behalf of the joint owner, include this person within the scope of the opt out election by providing his or her information on the form below.
